In general, yes:

• In nearly all applications where 3D models are commonly used - including Games, eCommerce, or in general anything XR, performance is a crucial factor for a good user experience.  
• If an eCommerce model takes more than 1-2 seconds to load, or if a game or VR app runs at less than 60fps, these factors all negatively affect the user experience - and therefore impact the whole "business outcome" of the surrounding application.  
• As a good reference and rough guideline for 3D Commerce, Khronos has published the 3D Asset Creation Guidelines, for example.
